‘Ek Niranjan’ in Thailand to shoot climax scenes

Shooting of climax scenes is in progress for ‘Ek Niranjan’ directed by Puri Jagannath and produced by Aditya Ram under the banner of Adityaram Movies.

The speciality of the film is Kangana Ranaut, a popular Bollywood heroine who is making her debut in Tollywood. This is the second film from the powerful director-hero combo, as they have earlier worked for ‘Bujjigadu’.

Recently, the film completed choreography of songs in Switzerland and returned from abroad schedule. The unit again left for Thailand to shoot the climax scenes. It is learnt that the unit stayed there for about a month and almost all the main star cast attended the shooting.

The director prepared the story keeping in mind entertainment and action in its backdrop. Moreover, he had moulded the hero’s character with utmost precision to attract all classes of audiences.

Earlier, a special set was erected exclusively for the film in Hyderabad. Mukul Dev, Makarand Deshpande, Brahmanandam, Ali, Sunil, Venumadhav, Brahmaji, Tanikella Bharani, Sangeetha and others are in the cast. Music is by Manisharma, cinematography is by Shyam K Naidu, while the film is being presented and directed by Puri Jagannath.

Raviteja’s new venture with Bellamkonda

Producer Bellamkonda Suresh is all set to create a sensation with each successive project. His latest film ‘Ride’ was proved a hit. A few days ago, he had announced a film ‘Bhishma’ with Balakrishna as hero under the direction of Ramesh Varma.

Recently, he bagged the remake rights of a successful Tamil film ‘Nadodigal’ by paying a huge sum. The film with friendship in its backdrop with Sasikumar, Vizharu, Bharani, Anan and Neha in the lead roles was proved a hit and it was directed by Samutirakani.

According to reliable information, Raviteja is roped in as hero for this film, while another role in the film was reportedly offered to Allari Naresh. It may be mentioned here that the producer had already announced another film with Raviteja and Krishnavamsi. If, ‘Nadodigal’ remake goes to sets earlier, the film with Krishnavamsi might be delayed a little further. Chances are bright that the director of the original may wield the megaphone for the Telugu version also.

Non-Cooperation For 'Magadheera' From Producers Council

It appears that the Producers Council has been coming up with rather revolutionary decisions and many say that this could involve a lot of consequences. Mainly, it is the stand that the council has been taking towards the TV channels when it comes to promoting the films and giving ads.

Sometime back, three big channels - MAA TV, ETV, Gemini TV were banned by the council and they were refrained from being given any film related ads. The council also went further by issuing no invites to these three channels for press meets and other film related events. The cause for this was said to be an expensive tariff quoted by these channels.

Now, even the ZEE Telugu has been joined into this league. Apparently, the channel is said to have mentioned that they were unable to come up with film teasers or ads during the primetime since the fees being given was not working out.

However, sources from the council say that the producers want to give a message that the TV depends on film industry but not vice versa.

Just when this tussle between the Producers Council and the TV channels has been getting hot, a move by film maker Allu Aravind seems to have rubbed salt on the wrong side. Apparently, Allu went ahead and gave the ‘Magadheera’ audio release event live to the MAA TV recently.

As per the industry sources, this has not gone well with the Producers Council and they have now said to have resolved that no support would be given to Allu Aravind in the event of any issue regarding this movie. It is also said that an anti-Allu Aravind group is coming together to come up with stern action due to this.

It is also heard that a motif was issued by the council demanding an explanation but no reply has been received from Aravind.

“Now, this has to be understood that if Allu Aravind faces any problem as producer either with exhibitors or any others, Producers’ Council will not stand for him”, says a birdie.

As it is, Allu has picked up friction in the political front in the PRP camp and now he seems to be picking up few more issues in his own film industry too.

Bikini fine if Dad not around: Shruti

Shruti Haasan, Sarika and Kamal Haasan’s light-eyed, fiery-natured daughter, is a month away from breaking into Bollywood.

At 23, she is used to stardom of sorts having performed live with her own music band and sung for a number of films. But it’s Soham Shah’s Luck that she’s setting her hopes on.

Her romantic lead is Imran Khan, who Shruti has known since childhood. “He actually considers me his little sister, but that didn’t make it difficult for me to romance him on screen!” she laughed. But the film is not all romance. She’s done death-defying stunts “crossing all boundaries that might have ever existed while filming action scenes” and wounded herself too in the bargain. “But I’m proud of those bruises,” said Shruti.

She’s happy, however, that her superstar father didn’t drop on the sets. “I wouldn’t be able to act in front of him so I told him to stay away and watch the final product,” she smiled. Doing a bikini scene, too, would be difficult with Kamal around, she admitted. “I’m okay with wearing a bikini onscreen or showing a little skin. I don’t know why a great deal is made out of the bikini! All those who have worn it till date, have looked good, and if you have a great body — then why not,” she said, “but... my dad shouldn’t be in the same film!”

Her debut film apart, Shruti’s busy composing the music for her home production, a remake of A Wednesday in Telugu and Tamil with Kamal playing the lead. “You can imagine how nervous I am as both the films will release within a gap of a few days. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Composing music was a different experience altogether and it was challenging working with dad,” she said.

Nagarjuna To Begin His Next Movie

Nagarjuna has put rumours to rest, that his film will not be releasing this year. On July 24th his next film with D. Shiva Prasad Reddy as the producer will start rolling. Nagarjuna had delivered a string of hits like Vikki Dada, Allari Alludu, Seetarama Raju, Nenunnanu, and much recently King from their banner.

The film will be released in December, the month that Nagarjuna has an attachment to. Kiran Kumar makes his debut as a director. So King will get busy from next month onwards. At the moment selection of the technical team is on.

Shriya Saran says no to soft drink ads

Chennai: Following the footsteps of Tamil actor Ajit, southern actress Shriya Saran too has decided not to endorse any soft drink brands.

“I did a soft drink ad some time back. Later, a mother came to me and said that her child started consuming more of that drink after seeing my ad. It made me measure my actions,” said Shriya, who teamed up with Tamil superstar Rajnikant in Sivaji: The Boss.

A soft drink ad fetches the actresses Rs.5-6 million and one just has to shoot for four-five days for the commercial, while for a movie one has to slog for months and the remuneration is not as good.

Apart from Tamil films, Shriya also featured in Hindi movies Awarapan and Mission Istaanbul.

Giving details about the film, producer Danaiah says, ‘We shot two songs from May 25 to June 2 on the lead pair in Australia, under the dance direction of Raju Sundaram. One more song remained balance for the movie. We are planning to choreograph it from June 12 at Chennai. We released the audio into the market recently and there was a massive response to it. All those who heard the album were complimenting Yuan Shankar Raja for giving such a melodious tunes. Re-recording is in final stages. We are making efforts to release the film on June 25.’ Napoleon, Sunil, Ali, Pradeep Rawat, MS Narayana, Tanikella Bharani, Krishnudu, Surekhavani, Master Bharat and others are in the cast.

Shooting of ‘Bendu Apparao’ directed by EVV Satyanarayana and produced by Dr D Ramanaidu on the banner of Suresh Productions with ‘Allari’ Naresh as hero and Kamna Jethmalani as heroine and Meghana as another heroine, is progressing at a brisk pace. Speaking on the occasion, the director says, ‘We choreographed three songs in Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Austria, with which we completed 50 per cent of shooting. We will wrap up the shooting part with the second schedule which is progressing in and around Konaseema on the banks of River Godavari. After a long time, I am directing a complete comedy entertainer. This time, we are experimenting dialogue comedy through this film. This is my second film on the banner, with my first being the debut ‘Prema Khaidi’. I am sure that the film would be a definite hit.’ Producer Dr D Ramanaidu says, ‘After a long gap, this film took shape in our combination. All the songs were melodious and their picturisation is also satisfactory. All those who worked for this film really strived hard. We are sure that the film would be a definite hit.’

Asin’s One More Chance For Kollywood

Asin is jobless, that is true and everyone knows the same. Director Gnana Rajasekaran, who has made only quality movies (appadinnaa oru padamum odalainnu chollunga!!!) approached Asin with a story and detailed her the same. Already she is upset staying in her house without any jobs and seeing Rajasekaran and knowing his history of giving business less movies, Asin heard the entire story that he narrated her and then requested him to wait for one or two years, so that if she is confirmed staying jobless till such time she may prefer to act under his direction.Annoyed over her request, Gnanam came out of Asin’s place with great silence.This has made Gnanam to think about doing atleast one commercial movie shortly.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni In Tollywood And Kollywood Movie

Looks like the movie bug has just bitten Mahendra Singh Dhoni, captain of the Indian cricket team. According to sources, actor-producer Dino Morea is eagerly looking forward to casting Dhoni in his film. Dino Morea owns a production house (Clockwork Films) and a merchandising company. Allu Arjun film at its last schedule in RFC

Allu Arjun’s untitled flick under Gunasekhar’s direction is currently taking shape at Ramoji Film City. DVV Danayya is producing the flick under Universal Media banner. He says, “A huge set was designed by art director Ashok at RFC for this last schedule. The shooting began today and we will continue to shoot and wind up in another 25 days. The film is being made with very high technical values. We are introducing a fresh face as the female lead of this film. Tamil hero Arya is portraying the role in negative shade. After ‘Desamuduru’ this is the second film for Allu Arjun under our banner and Allu Arjun-Gunasekhar combo is the first time.”

Other important cast includes Suhasini, Naresh, Shayaji Shinde, Aashish Vidhyarthi, Ahuti Prasad, Brahmanandam, Vinay Prasad and Brahmaji.

A song was picturised on heroine Shriya at a Jewellery shop in Italy. This song was for the film ‘Mallanna’. The news is that, the owner of the Jewellery Shop and his family members were very much impressed with the dancing performance of Shriya and intended to gift her. As a token of appreciation, they gifted her a footwear worth rupees five and half lakhs. The footwear is so costly because they are embedded with diamonds. Till now Shriya might have not come across a fan that gifted her with such a costly item. This song will be her introduction song in the film. For this song she has used various costly costumes. Susi Ganeshan is directing this movie, with Vikram as hero. Kalaivuli Dhanu is the producer of this film. The ‘ROBO’ is getting ready for its release.

Shruti Haasan’s grand entry into Bollywood!

Shruti Haasan, Sarika and superstar Kamal Haasan’s light eyed, fiery natured daughter, is days away from debuting into bollywood. She is used to all the attention, having performed live with her own maiden band and her penchant for singing. However, it is Soham Shah’s high-octane action drama, Luck, which she has her hopes pinned on.

In the film, she romanticizes teen sensation, Imran Khan! However, the film ain’t all about romance, for she has done some really dare devil stunts evident from the promos. Says Shruti, “We’ve crossed all boundaries that might have never existed while filming action films, ” and in the process, she got herself bruises of which she’s immensely proud!

When asked if her legendary father, Kamal Haasan dropped by on the sets, the lady says, “I wouldn’t be able to act in front of him so I told him to wait and watch the final product”, she smiled.

These days, apart from her debut film, Shruti’s busy composing music for the remake of the Bollywood blockbuster, A Wednesday in Tamil and Telugu, which stars Kamal Haasan in the lead!

She exclaims, “You can imagine how nervous I am, as both these films will release in a gap of a few days. Composing music was a different experience altogether and a challenging one if I may add, as I was working with Dad!”
